Rolling Ridge Study Retreat Community
Harpers Ferry, WV

     Rolling Ridge Study Community is a Christian ecumenical study retreat ministry, welcoming people of all religious traditions.  Located on the western slope of the Blue Ridge Mountain and near the Shenandoah River, it serves people of the Greater Washington Metropolitan  area through a variety of study and retreat experiences.  Your lodging will be in the Rolling Ridge Retreat House with 10 International Students and the CIH Coordinators.

     In  the surrounding area, and including the towns of Harper’s Ferry, Charles Town, and Shepherdstown, we will visit educational sites concerning the American Civil War.  In addition to hiking in the Blue Ridge, and festive dinners, music, storytelling, and preparing favorite foods in the Retreat House, we will attend an International Dinner with citizens of Shepherdstown, a candlelight Christmas Eve Service, a concert by local folk musicians, a one-day visit to Washington, DC, a tour through Luray Caverns, the largest such cavern in the eastern United States, and special meals in local families’ homes.

     The weather can be moderately cold, sometimes with snow, so bring warm clothing and outdoor shoes.  All meals, lodging, admission fees, and local transportation will be without cost to you.  Any other travel or personal shopping will be at your expense.
