Learn more about Texas
A NEW PROGRAM IN SE TEXAS DESIGNED TO GIVE OUR GUESTS A NEW PROSPECTIVE OF TEXAS CULTURE.
We are not all city slickers, nor are we oil barons, nor horse owners. We hope to provide home stays for 8-10 students. We have lots of historical things in the area and we will show you the oil refineries (sorry no local tours), shrimp boats, oyster fishermen, museums, an oil rig, NASA headquarters where the astronauts train, where a hurricane in 1900 wiped out over 6,000 residents in the worst natural disaster in the USA - many of the buildings that were built at that time are still standing and being used.
We will visit the spot where a 12 minute War changed the History of the USA forever.
Learn about the pirates who used to live in the area. Jean Lafitte was the most notable.
We will visit a ranch, maybe go horseback riding, bowling, caroling, visit a Scout camp, hold a campfire on the beach, meet lots of folks who want to get to know you and about your country and culture. There are many things to do and see. We guarantee you a great experience with our local CIH program.
Come on down! Join us for the Holidays! Welcome to SE Texas!
