Experience small town island living with a family on St. Simons Island, Georgia.

St Simons Presbyterian Church will host 1 college student  for 2 weeks from December 20 to January 2.

While the main focus will be spending time with several American families, there will be time to bike ride, walk the beach, boat ride, or go fishing.  You can tour an historic English fort, take a trolley tour, walk to the top of our lighthouse, shop in our village, and enjoy the many holiday activities in our community. Over the past three years, students staying with us have enjoyed beach kayaking, bike riding around the island, shopping, the church’s Christmas services, playing games, going to movies and eating out with families, seeing Christmas light displays at Jekyll Island, going to the top of the lighthouse, a group dinner with the host families, touring Savannah, and much, much more! Students have also enjoyed dining and walking the beach at the 5-star luxury resort known as Sea Island.

We normally have a mild winter with an average high of 62 and low of 43.  You will be staying on St. Simons Island, but will be close to Jekyll Island, Sea Island, and the historic town of Brunswick, GA.

Please bring a jacket for activities, money for shopping and bike renting.

The nearest airport is Brunswick, GA (a Delta connection through Atlanta).  Airports one hour away include Jacksonville, FL and Savannah, GA.
