Merritt Island is located on the Atlantic Coast of Florida. The National Wildlife Refuge and the Kennedy Space Center are located right on the island.
You will be spending the holiday with an American family and may be visiting other family members on the west side of Florida for a few days during Christmas. There is much to do in the Merritt Island area and your family will show you the major places of interest. If you would like to go to Disney World or the space center, you would be responsible for the entrance fees.
The weather is great and the beaches are close by.
The closest airport, train and bus are in Orlando which is less than an hour away
