In Northeast Florida, warm and sunny most of the time, a heartfelt welcome awaits you in Jacksonville; the “Gateway to Florida”, intersected by the beautiful St. John’s River and bounded on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and its pleasant beaches only 15 miles away. A number of churches from a variety of denominations will serve as meal and activity providers while you are with us.

Daily trips and activities are planned for your enjoyment during your stay: visit St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city; a day at the beach; a boat trip on the St. John’s River as guests of the Commodore Club; shopping in outlet malls; picturesque Christmas activities in lovely Riverside, a turn of the century neighborhood, will include candle lit streets, strolling Christmas carolers, open houses, a live nativity scene and hay ride; you will spend Friday, December 22-Monday, December 25 with a host family to experience a traditional American Christmas; the last Saturday of the stay will be a Global Night celebration wherein you will be able to prepare foods from your home country and perform dances, songs, or skits from your home country; New Year’s Eve will include a special dinner and then a fireworks display over the St. John’s River.

Students who participate in this program will visit Disney World in Orlando – a two night stay (December 26 – 28) in a Disney World Resort Hotel and tickets to the area’s theme parks. The cost for this trip is approximately $325.00 payable by each student.
