First
Presbyterian Church of Fernandina Beach and Amelia Plantation Chapel Church
welcome you to visit Amelia Island, Florida. Our getaway island is located in
the northeast corner of Florida. On the north, Amelia Island shares the St
Mary’s river between Georgia and Florida, and with the Amelia River on the
west, separates Amelia Island from the mainland. The lifestyle of our town,
Fernandina Beach, is laid back, relaxed, charming and well, simply wonderful.
Learn why both visitors and locals call Amelia Island …paradise. Become a part
of the historic city of Fernandina Beach which has seen eight flags flown over
its picturesque old town center. Browse the historic downtown area, tour Fort
Clinch, walk the beach, bike, or
simply relax.
You
will enjoy the hospitality of two host families as you stay for
one week in each home, giving you opportunity to get to know Americans and they
to know more about you, your country and your culture as you share everyday life
together. Additionally there will be time for visiting local nearby attractions
in St Augustine, Jacksonville, St Mary’s, and
more. We especially look forward to International Night where you share the food
and culture of your country with your new island friends.
Amelia
Island has four distinct seasons although none are extreme; therefore expect
cool weather especially evenings and moderate days.
Amelia is located very near to Jacksonville, Florida
We
know you will enjoy the many opportunities for fun, adventure and learning about
new people, families and cultures. We look forward to welcoming you as you spend
your Christmas season with us on Amelia Island.
